As most of you know, whether or not to vaccinate your child is a strong issue with intelligent, informed, and inspired people on both sides. If you read this forum you can see that I generally take the 'science' side – if it's not proven in a lab then it cannot be true and I've even gone as far to think that these beautiful children with ASD are just born with it.

Well, as I prepare to take down my blue lights to put Autism Awareness month behind me, I came across a humbling article called: Autism "Awareness" and NOT BORN WITH IT. I read it and I was humbled. Only a mother can see the subtle changes in their child and when they started. Only a mother can deduce when these changes happened.

Although I am not prepared to say that vaccinations cause autism I am willing to accept the possibility that all circumstances of every child cannot possibly be tested in a research environment. I will eat my humble pie quietly now and maybe keep my blue lights up for a few extra days. Maybe forever.
